TRANSFORMATIONS ON THE COORDINATE PLANE

Types of transformations

  • Translation: A rigid transformation that moves a shape without changing its orientation or size.
  • Reflection: A transformation that flips a shape over a mirror line.
  • Rotation: A transformation that rotates the x and y axes around a point by a specific angle.
  • Dilation: A transformation that increases or decreases the size of a shape.

CLASSIFICATION AND DECOMPOSITION OF SOLIDS

Solids

Solid figures are identified according to the features that are unique to each type of solid. Specifically, you can observe the numbers of faces, edges, and vertices, as well as the shape of the base. The flat surfaces of a solid figure are its faces, or sides as they are commonly called.

Nets

A geometry net is a 2-dimensional shape that can be folded to form a 3-dimensional shape or a solid. Or a geometry net is a pattern made when the surface of a three-dimensional figure is laid out flat showing each face of the figure. A solid may have different nets.

POWERS

POWER:

ROOTS

ROOTS

Roots represent a value that, when multiplied by itself "n" times, results in a value called the radicand. The number "n" is given by an index in a radical symbol.

How to rename a root into a power:

PRIME FACTORIZATION OR PRIME DECOMPOSITION

PRIME FACTORIZATION:

It is the process of writing a number as the product of prime numbers.

Prime numbers: 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, …
